silkcycles
foldable object
created 2024
SilkCycles is a foldable risograph object created as part of the Danner Prize 2024. It explores the fluid relationship between structure and transformation, questioning the boundaries of control and utility.
"What happens when we dissolve the human narrative of control and use?" At the core of this project lies the act of participation, the movement of the object, and an acceptance of unfolding. Through its shifting form, SilkCycleschallenges the idea of permanence, inviting interaction and reinterpretation. The interplay of print, fold, and expansion transforms the piece into a visual and tactile experience.
This work is a tribute to the power of transformation—a manifesto for freedom and patience, where the cycle of movement becomes a space for reflection and change.
